Recently had an engineer inspection done buy the buyers of the home we are selling. One item that the engineer requested on his report is that we should have individual bleeders or a tiger loop installed on the separate oil lines going to the hot water boiler and to the furnace. What is the purpose for doing this?
Is it required for code or safety reasons?
My understanding is that the tiger loop system is used when the oil tank is not in close proximity to the burners, which is not the case here. Our oil tank is only a few feet away from the hot water boiler and the furnace.
