Different countries have different Formats for transmitting the signals. The U.S. is different then any other and I know Europe has a its own Format too. The format I am talking about is the amount of line per second scanning or shot across the (CRT) TV tube from the gun in the rear to transmitt a picture on the screen. Its not worth it to transport a TV from one region to another unless it is compatiable. I would go to the local library and check out a Basic TV book and see what it say's for your region or country.Sorry if I wasn't more help and don't let these local TV repair shop owners give you a snow job. Good Luck.
