Jennifer.........make sure they are clean - Alcohol works great and doesn't leave a residue.

I would prime them with Glidden Ultra-Hide Gripper.

After that - do whatever you want. You might want to do a faux technique or perhaps just paint them.

Whatever you do make sure that you use at least a semi-gloss finish coat for durbility.

Glidden makes some great semi-gloss paints - and don't forget Ralph Lauren Aging and Technique Glaze......
