Kitchen Oven Ventilation

I'm moving into a home where the oven vents directly behind it into the utility room as shown by 'X' on the diagram.

Is the best option to run a duct along the ceiling to the left of the door? I can't go up as there is a finished attic about the kitchen. Any ideas?
