There are 2 different basic methods of bending. The first is softening the wood with steam or water. The second is making thin sections so they slide past each other easily to make a curve. You can bend with nothing more than a saw to cut thin sections, a tin can to wrap the sections around, some glue to hold the sections permanently and enough clamps or things like rubber bands to hold the wood in a curved shape until the glue dries. Some bending is a combination of the two methods also.
