My sump pump is connected to the sink that my washing machine empties into. Sometimes it works fine and other times it doesn't kick on and my basement floods. If I catch the sump pump not kicking on, I have to slightly jingle the plastic pipe that goes down into the sump pump and it instantly kicks on. I've removed the sump pump from the bucket it is in to make sure the float isn't getting stuck and it seems fine. Any advice?
