Craftsman garage door opener, sensors

I have the 1/2 HP motor and the sensors are defective, at least the receiver, can I wire it somehow to by-pass those sensors or to use some other kind, I will prefer to by-pass them since I am used to the old version which had no sensors.
Please send me some info, and if posible some schematics.
