For those still interested:
Apparently the blinking of the wall button is caused by the opener going into "lock out" mode, which in my case I think was triggered by tripping the security beam. Anyway, if your setup is like mine, your wall button does not have any additional buttons beneath it. If so, what you need to do is disconnect the first wire from left to right on the back of the motor. Then you will need to reprogram your remote(s). Then you should reconnect the wire. The blinking on the wall button should have stopped and everything should work normally. Note: If you do have additional buttons below the main wall button, they should be something like "lock" and "off" and you can correct the problem just by pressing the lock "off" button.
