Hi, Jeremy. Dave is exactly right, but the bigger question is why it is growing on your roof. This usually is because all or part of your roof is in shade and doesn't dry after a rain or morning dew. So you should also be looking at tree branches that are blocking the sun with an eye toward removing them too. Henry in MI
