We bought a new piece of solid wood furniture which was made from recycled lumber. It was shipped from Indonesia and the smell is overwhelming. The merchants think it is some sort of creosote or linseed oil used to ward off insects in the shipping. We are currently airing it out in the garage (spring rain prevents us from putting it fully outside.) I used "orange glo" and Murphy's oil on it. It seems better but the inside of the inside of the drawers is bad too. I don't think it's ready to come back inside. Any suggestions?
