Well Glenn, A pint is 8 oz.,,and a Gal is 128 oz.
So 128 divided by 8 gives 16/1. A little rich by today's standards. But I think my old LawnBoy mower used to use that ratio. I can't say for sure about the gap, but I doubt it's really critical. I'd try 0.030" for starters.
