you may want to try strong alkaline treatment. I'm no expert, but I know that 1M (or higher) NaOH (sodium hydroxide) will break alot of things down such as cellulose / sugar polymers, etc, which I would guess is a large component of popcorn ceiling. Concentrated Sodium Hydroxide is available from JT BAker, Mallinkrodt, Sigma, etc. Ask for a MSDS. (Material Safety Data Sheet) Was this post helpful? Yes: or No:
