How much damage is there, if it is just stains then paint over with stain hiding primer and paint again. If you have small damage, scrape off the pop corn in the damage area, repair with drywall mud and buy a can of pop corn ceiling repair and spray on and repaint. If entire ceiling needs to be done scrape all off, and either re pop corn with hopper gun or sand and do something else.
