If your cable running from the Breaker box to the electrical outlet box is BX which is a metal shield cable then that circuit is grounded. You could test it by Discontcting both ends of the Circuit and do a continuity check.Tying one leg of the wire to the electrical box and check from the other end using a ohms tester.
