Bathtub Apron Removal

I have a conventional 2 piece steel tub. The Apron is ugly and I would like to know how it is attached to the tub itself, and if I can remove it without pulling the whole tub out. I'm not sure what brand it is...but the overflow cover says 'Cuthbert' (?!?) Not a brand I have heard of. Any insights?? My plan is to frame in a new support and cover it with Beadboard to match the rest of the bathroom.
