Alexis, you might try a 1 cup of household bleach, like Clorox, to a quart of water mixture and lightly sponge it on. You do not want to get it really wet, but the bleach should work somewhat on the dye.
I've never heard of this problem before but sure have heard of a lot of others. Let us know how this works, would you?
