It was important to break the continuous contact of your siding and frame with the soil on the ground. With that done however, your risk of insect or termite infestation and moisture related problems is pretty much taken care of.
Rather than remove siding to remove any remaining soil, I would recommend you focus efforts on eliminating the cause of the problem, which is water impacting the ground from the roof. The sod will help eliminate splashing and soil run-up provided it is kept trimmed, but it can't solve the problem as well as a strategically placed gutter and downspout. If I had to guess, you probably can take your time and observe the situation, but eventually your best expenditure will be to install a gutter and downspout to direct water away from the location where moisture was a problem.
