I am new at this. We recently purchased a new home and had the acoustics removed from our ceiling with the plan of painting instead. Not knowing better, we now have a surface that I am told should not be painted.
Apparently my options are to put acoustic back (prefer not to) or smooth it with a compound.
A few questions, how hard will each option be for a complete beginner? How much should I expect to pay for a professional to do it, and how long do each typically take? Should the drywall be sanded and primed first?
