Have acquired an old homemade checker board table with a veneered design in many small pieces around the outside edge, this veneer has warped/come loose over the years. I have used a thin flexible putty knife to get under and pull loose in an effort to reglue these pieces. Once these pieces are off is there a recommended way to remove the old glue since the veneer is so thin I have been hesitant to sand. Ther then coming loose the table is in good shape and I would like to save it, so any help is greatly appreciated.
