If it truly is asbestos-laden, you're best off leaving it. $500 sounds cheap to do such a job - chances are that figure is for someone to just come in and rip it up and throw it in your trash - which is illegal. And that's why you don't want to do it yourself, let alone the health hazard it poses to you. These tiles won't hurt you if you leave them intact. You're probably better off covering over them somehow.
