if that is okay with you to have to manually turn it on and off....!! go to HOme Depot or Lowes and buy a bulb socket extension with a pull chain on/off switch on it...screw the socket extension into the garage door opener and then screw the buld into it. NOW you can manually turn the bulb on and off with the pull chain switch. I would not bother making an expensive repair to the opener circuit board to deal with this nuisance.
