I've read through all the comments on painting brick fireplaces, and nobody seems to have answered the original question, which is "How do you do it? Are there any special tips or types of paint/equipment you need?"
We just bought a house where someone had already painted the mortar in the fireplace black and we want to paint it a different color. Do you have to use anything special?
