Frankie, in general water spots are what is disolved in water, and left behind when the pure part evaporates away. In well source water, it's generally ground minerals, and a mild acid such as vinegar will many times dissolve the spots. In your case I don't know, but I would suspect maybe some salt in the air. I might add that water spots are a small price for you to pay, for living in paradise.
