Can't be fixed

Aubrey, You might as well have the funeral. Sadly you need to go get that new washer that matches the new dryer before the next load of clothes are due. Even the best mechanic can't fix the unloved machine. To get the new machine faster, a few well-placed hammer blows may get the job done permanently (devious snicker).
Get the new washer and enjoy.
PS: The hammer is a bit messy and if you post back, I'm sure someone here will have an ingenious way of dispatching the old machine without leaving so much evidence.
