We have a softener that isn't creating any soft water. Instead, it is continually cycling water through the system. The digital display reads "E-1" which means call for maintainence. The rotor is slowly rotating but then after about 6 seconds, it'll click back a notch as if it is skipping. Can anyone tell me what the problem is? Is it the motor? The rotor? Or anything else? Can anyone give me an assessment? Thanks!
