I'm reading some of this stuff about carpet seaming. I have to repair a 3 ft long seam in a passage way. Can I use a regular household iron? Which way does the tape face? And I have seen two contradictory ways of doing it, on the label of the tape I bought it says to run the iron over the carpet, another way is to put the iron on the tape and close the carpet up behind it? Any recommendations?
