A propane furnace is a combustion furnace.

The result of combustion is predominantly water, carbon dioxide and residual solid hydrocarbons.

What you see deposited on your vinyl is hydrocarbon based.

This is completely normal.

Use any petroleum solvent such as paint thinner/mineral spirts to reove these hydrocarbon stains.
