Pulling up fencing posts is very difficult

I am having a hard time pulling up fencing posts in my front yard. They are steel posts 1.5 inches wide, buried about a foot and a half in the rocky and packed ground. They have small bumps up the whole shaft which are used to hold the fence in. I've tried everything short of buying a farm jack and some chain. Will that solution even work?
