"cracking" paint/joint compound Posted by KristyH on September 7th, 1999 01:25 PM
I just had my bathroom repainted. Prior to re-painting, my husband and I spent an awful lot of time and effort removing 80+ years worth of paint from the plaster. We had a pretty un-even surface at that point (with some cracks in the plaster), so we called in a professional to prepare the walls. Its been a month and the paint (or, more likely, joint compound) is cracking---I'm guessing that the temperature changes in the room (its a bathroom, remember) are causing this. Is there any way to a) repair this and b) prevent it from happening? My bathroom has no fan, but it does have a window, which we open religiously while showering... Any ideas? Thanks!
