I would try a product called Peel-Away. It includes a fabric to apply over it to keep it wet while it works. This fabric also holds a great deal of the paint - so you basically peel it away!
I will say though that like all strippers - it is slow - patience is a virtue.
You should be able to find Peel-Away at most any paint store.
