We had a flood in our new kitchen. There is a water mark up about 1 inch on the toe kick and the end panel of 3 of the cabinets look to have water damage. The problem is that the backs of the cabinest are pressboard and have swelled slightly (less than 1/8th inch out) barely noticeable and about 1 inch up from the floor. The new tile floor was grouted to the toe kick and when we took it off there was no standing water under the cabinets. PS it was hot water from the hot water heater and it could have been there up to 8 hours (we have no idea since came home from work to find) Question: cabinet company says voids warranty, but should they be replaced. Replacement will be a nightmare since granite countertops would need to be removed. I can easily replace the toe kicks and end panels. Insurance should probably cover but if the cabinets are structurally sound, I wonder if I could just leave them.
