but, by not fixing this fast, you are damaging more things inside that just add up.

Being a steep roof is relative, but a steep roof sheds water faster than a non steep roof and possibly you should look on the up side of ALL roof stacks and obstacles. They are usually the first culprit.

If this is not the case, then go in the attic and look on the underside of the shingles and cedar water leaks leave a dark water stain that will eventually lead you to the origin of the leak if you carefully follow it upward. Leaks usually start a far distance UP from where the water decides to drop or drip.

When you find the leak then your next question comes in to play. repairing a cedar roof leak requires removing many shingles in and up from the area so that you can maintain the lap process. You might be able to get away with some metal flashing or caulking bandaids also.
