i'm not sure about the kind of paint you bought, but i just used regular semi-gloss paint with a chamois roller that i got at lowe's. i got a great effect using 2 colors. i used a light beige for the base in all my rooms with a slightly lighter or darker(depending on the effect i wanted) shade over it with the chamois roller. the only thing you have to be careful with is how much paint you get on your roller. i had 2 different sets of newspapers taped down to my plastic. i got a LITTLE paint on the roller from a roller pan, then ran it back and forth over 1 set of papers, then the other so i wouldn't have blobs of paint on the wall. it was fun and you really can't make a mistake. just experiment. it's only paint. you can try lots of different things till you get what your'e looking for. feather dusters, rags, sponges. they have all different types of rollers now for this. a lot of the techniques say to mix your paint with a glaze, but i didn't and it looks great.
