I am laying down some Hardibacker board for a tile installation. Instructions say to use Dry-set Portland cement or Latex Portland cement mortar under the Hardibacker. I understand that a Type O mortar is one part Portland cement and is used for inside installations but what is Thin-set mortar. I have MasterBlend thin-set mortar along with an Acrylic Mortar Admix for the actual tile installation. can i also use this for the Hardibacker installation or should i use something else.
