.......Just apply a clear finish as a "test" and SEE what it looks like......... An Oil finish will usually impart a yellow glow to the wood........ the water based clear finishes are much "whiter"...neutral...... But the real Key is WHAT do you have to do to make the wood usable for the cabinets........?
