Refinishing floors

Jen, this is about like you asking the best way to build a house. One easy answer to both questions is that the best way is to have someone else do it. I do have a feeling that this may not be the answer you want so tell us more about where you are starting, condition of current floors, kind of wood, what do you want to do to the current floors, what do you want to change?
I did recently see in a magazine that Varathane has a kit out for refinishing floors. You might check this out for a place to start. And it you do try out the kit, let us know your results. I will say that I cheat a lot more on refinishing our floors than I could do on someone elses.
