I had a 10X10 concrete patio. I laid 1 inch flagstone on top of it and cemented it in. I want to extend the flagstone patio beyond the concrete slab. What is the best method for laying flagstone no a soil base? The best I've heard is build-up the base with crushed gravel (2-3"), 1-2"of sand on top of the gravel. Lay flagstone and let settle for a few weeks. Then mortar in.
