I am in the process of selling a house that was build in 1990-1991. I am the original owner and just found out that the house has PB piping using metal inserts for connections. During the 12 years of the house's existance, I have had two minor leaks in my plumbing and both of those were actually with copper piping. I have not yet had a leak associated with the PB piping.

Does anyone out there know of any statistics regarding PB piping failures? I think it would be useful to have this type of data broken down by dates of installation, type of installation (plastic insert fittings vs metal fittings), type of failure (failure in the actual PB piping vs failure at the connector) and mean time of failure from installation date. It would also be helpful to have this type of data for copper systems for comparison.
