The old sealer has probably become worn and needs to be cleaned and re-applied. Old sealer sometimes needs to be stripped, but usually neutral cleaning (no acid) and scrubbing is sufficient. To finish use a good penetrating sealer made for fine stone. I use SCI Stoneguard solvent based sealer. If polishing or deep cleaning is needed, they sell Marbalex which contains mild stone polishing abrasives. Online ordering and descriptions.
