If you use your browsers "Find" function under the "Edit" pull down window and search for a keyword such a "ceiling fan" you will see this explained several times. Do you have the instructions with the fan on wiring? Do you currently have separate switches available on the wall? I think each switch should have a set of wires. You would use the red & black from one switch to the two wires that operate the fan and red & black from the other switch to the wires that would operate the light. Then make sure the unit is grounded using one of the grounds. This is my guess or someone else may tell me I'm full of S___.
