Priming it now isn't going to make any difference - it is just another coat of paint - which will have to be topcoated anyway - so you are looking at at least two more coats doing this.
Just apply two more topcoats - red primer should have been done first - adding it in the middle is like closing the barn after the horse has gotten out...
