I have painted my cabinets hunter and burgundy. Worked great. I first mixed water based paints to come up with the exact color I wanted, tried it on a piece of wood with primer on it and then took to local paint store to let them mix that exact color. (Make sure you have a large enough sample so the computer can pick it up) Exact color I wanted.
