The upstairs toliet leaked into the subfloor and finally came through in the bathroom below it. The below bathroom had a drywall ceiling and where two pieces came together is where the water broke through. The drywall itself is fine. The once filled gap between them is exposed (.5 inch). I know how to fill the gap. My question is, since the drywall is fine and the only problem for me is where the paint bubbled and ripped down, how to I blend the new paint into the exhisting paint. I don't mean color. I mean smoothnes. The bubbles were popped and drained and then the loose-wet paint was taken away. Doing this left an uneven surface. Can I blend new paint into the exhisting paint? (I have the same color so that is not an issue) white by the way.
