My husband and I have just built a home in Coarsegold Ca and when creating the house pad, we ended up with a very steep 12-15 foot embankment and the soil is mostly decomposed granite. We want to plant something along the sides of the hills that is drought tolerant and low maintenance. We are hoping for something that grows quite fast and is inexpensive. There are two embankments we are concerned about with errosion. One faces the North and the other the East. Coarsegold in the summer time is prone to wildfires, so that is also another factor in our choice of landscaping. Any possible help would be greatly appreciated.
