How to Tell Formica Quality

Recently I visited a builder's surplus warehouse and found 10 - 12 ft. sections of Formica countertop. I am leery of these types of places for quality. Is there a way to tell if it is good quality or even formica at the warehouse? Thanks in advance for help. P.S. If it helps these sections were about $59.00 a piece. Was this post helpful?
