New pressure treated wood or any natural material will not take a stain or sealant until it has thoroughly dried out. Depending on the region, this may take 6 months. If a stain or sealant was applied to green wood, it will come off as the moisture in the new wood evaporates and leaches out.

And too, if you used a product from Thompson's, then that will only last about 6 weeks max.

Go back and try a product called CWF-UV from Sherwin Williams. Or sometimes home centers carry it, made by the Flood Company. Its an oil and a sealant. Has to be brushed on. Comes in clear, cedar, and redwood. Culprinol is a UV protectant only and does not soak in.

Now, a new wood for the first time will really soak up the product. This will have to be re done about every two to three years. I personally like this product, CWF-UV,

Good Luck.
