I still vote for alkyd (oil) paints on kitchen cabinetry. More durable and able to take the inevitable washings.

Some alkyds, in lighter colors, still tend to yellow. I'm not familiar with "Porter".

Regardess, prep well, then prime with an alkyd primer and follow with two coats of either alkyd or latex topcoat.
