moldings around carpeted stairs

I would like to see some examples, or get some ideas on how to
install moldings around my carpeted stairs. New moldinds were
installed in every room of the house, and I would like to carry
the chair rail and baseboard trim from the down stairs to the upstairs
without removing the carpet on the stairs. Please help A.S.A.P.
