Any ideas on removing paint from a deck. The deck posts are 6x6 treated posts and the framing is 2X12's(probably treated). I plan to replace the floor and railing. So I just need to strip the paint off the posts and framing. The paint is chipping in some places but is actually adhered pretty well in most places. Had a guy try a 2800 psi power washer and it will strip the paint, but because you have to get close and really work at it, it really gouged the wood, more than just taking a little top edge off. Any other alternatives or would a lower psi not gouge so bad?
