I have a basement bathroom that uses a sump to pump the effluent up to sewer level. The two inch pipe is not in line and connected with a flexible rubber sleeve with clamps. When the pump kicks on in response to water use there is a VERY STRONG surge or kick of water that shakes the whole out line. Twice this has openned the rubber sleeve resulting in a flood and sewer smell in the finished basement.
*****Is it normal for the sump to kick in with so much power?
